The objective of practical training for master's students encompasses several key goals aimed at enhancing their knowledge, skills, and real-world readiness for the pharmaceutical industry. Practical training serves as a bridge between theoretical learning and practical application, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the challenges of their future careers.

Course Content
- Synthesis of API-Intermediates and API.
- Review the history of API, Evolution of API, Importance, compare with contemporary available APIs and Identify synthetic techniques involved in and Mechanistic studies.
- Route Scouting: Review of various routes of synthesis
- Assess its Advantages and Disadvantages of synthesis
- Compare and contrast synthetic routes in terms of Availability, Cost, Safety etc., and presentation of the same.
- Chemoselectivity and Regio-selectivity
- Calculation of Yields w/w; w/v etc.
- Screening of solvents, temperature, role of additives in reaction
- Understanding reaction mechanism
- Preparation of various intermediates in it
- Characterisation of Regio-isomers, stereo-isomers by applying various analytical tools such as UV, IR, NMR, Mass etc.
- Purification techniques such as Distillation, Fractional-distillation, Crystallisation etc.
- Optimisation of experimental procedure and identify issues during scale-up of synthetic procedures.
- Synthesis of Key reagents
- Identification of Key Starting materials and its synthesis in improvisation of cost improvisation
